A longtime photographer, Bruno Baudry has also made a career in communication and contributes to photography exhibitions and other events as a consultant and artistic director.
In his photographic work, he investigates fields ranging from the body and the intimate to simple scenes of daily life and the ordinary outdoors, with the curious observation of a false dilettante. Claude Nori says "his pictures evoke musical fugues, they are variations on a theme, that of the female body whose movement becomes sensual dance and imaginary space". Between play and tension, sensuality and mystery. Also with a desire to go beyond mere appearances and suggest a little of the invisible. A picture which comes to mind is that of a butterfly pinned for display : it looks like a butterfly, but without flight and the surrounding summer smells, is it still a butterfly ?...
"The evanescent its foundation, the uncertain its texture, Bruno Baudry's art derives its charm and strength from this constant interrogation".
A few milestones
(Collective) exhibition – Auction sale Dupon #1
Paris, Evolution Pierre Cardin gallery, 2008
Thirty-three photographers selected by a jury of art directors and leading professionals, gathered with three pictures each in a place dedicated to contemporary creation, open to the diversity of approaches.
Exhibition "In between"
Paris, Photo-Originale gallery, 2008
Another adventure of the eye as well as a photographer’s celebration of the female body, again revealed in dance. As if the matter – and magic – of photography could be to let the feeling of passing time show in the picture, rather than freeze a fleeting moment in a desperate attempt to stop time.
Exhibition "Not even a second long"
Paris, Cosmosgalerie, 2007
Another essay, where faces and bodies seem to slowly vanish from the surface of the image and melt into the grain of the paper… Elusive moments, stories with the end yet to come.
Exhibition "When goddesses dance…"
Arles, St Anne's chapel, 2006
An exhibition of nude photography and a celebration of dance and movement, revealing the female body in its unique vibration and timeless dimension.
